Supporting Local Business?

Good on David Sefton for writing to the media.  He must feel destroyed by this decision, as he has pointed out, he and his family have given a lot to Rotorua over the decades.

The council need to be made to explain to the ratepayers, why they would support a company which is only in Rotorua due to them winning work from our council.

The additional cost to the ratepayers is only the start.  It would be interesting to look into any links of council officials to the company officials.  Maybe someone high up has shares in McKay.

No matter why the decision has been made to offer these contracts to out of town companies, when all of our local businesses need local support, it is appalling that the council once again let the local businesses and ratepayers down.
