Being of the older generation, everybody had to be frugal to get by. The younger generation nowadays spend money as if it is going out of fashion. However when your bank account is getting close to $250 million in the red like our council, one would think that they would keep spending to a minimum.
Accordingly I could not believe it at first when I learned that the Mayor and her senior executives got themselves new cars. I don’t know yet what the executives got, but the Mayor bought a new Lexus SUV worth $90K+. The bit that hurt us ratepayers most is that we ratepayers will be paying for it. You would not print my first reaction, but I tell you it is rather awful. You will never find another person going to disagree with me.
